How does it work?
Medical Qi gong (pronounced “chee-gung”) is an ancient Chinese medical practice and is known as one of the four main branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), along with acupuncture, herbal medicine, and massage. Similar to those treatments, medical qi gong corrects any energetic imbalances that are often the result of a sedentary lifestyle, poor diet, injuries, emotional suppression, and aging.
A qi gong practitioner will typically work about one foot away from the patient’s body to guide and regulate the movement of qi. Patients may feel a variety of sensations during this treatment, such as pleasant vibrations, warmth, coolness, tingling, and sometimes twitching as the stagnant qi is released.
Some patients may even feel a release of uncomfortable emotions, which can be incredibly beneficial to the patient’s physical and spiritual well-being.
